REGISTRATION INFORMATION

 

Congratulations on your decision to provide a quality education for your child in a safe and moral environment!  Our Lady of Mount Carmel School has been forming young minds since 1903.

The administration and the faculty of OLMC school strive to provide your child not only with the highest quality academic education, but also a love and understanding of the Catholic faith.

We are most proud that Our Lady of Mount Carmel is the only elementary school in Bayonne accredited by the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools.

Annual Operation Costs

       Excluding State funded programs, the annual cost to operate our School exceeds $753,000.00.  This includes teachers’ salaries, taxes and employee benefit expense, educational supplies, utilities, and facility maintenance.  The income needed to meet these operating expenses is generated through tuition and school fees, the fundraising activities of the Home/School Association, and direct Parish subsidy.   Last year, the Parish subsidized the school by $86,489.00.  We encourage you to be timely in your tuition payments and to support the school’s fundraising activities throughout the academic year.

 

Tuition and School Fees

       The non-refundable Registration Fee will remain the same as last year: $150.00.  The fee for books, supplies and the computer program are included in your regular tuition payment.

* In order to qualify for “Parishioner" rate, the family must be registered in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church,  use collection envelopes, and contribute an average $10.00 per week to the parish.  Twice a year (May and November) the status of parishioner families is checked.  Families who are not contributing the average minimal amount will be designated “Non-parishioners” and will be given a non-parishioner coupon book for the remainder of the academic year.

 

Home/School Association

OLMC School is generously supported by our Home/School Association.  The parents and friends of the school children form bonds of friendship and support while they raise funds to supplement our programs.  All families are required to be members of The HSA.  Membership requires a $30.00 annual membership fee, the sale or purchase of raffle tickets for the monthly 50/50 ($15.00 each month), the annual Super 50/50 ($15.00) and to actively participate in other fundraising events.  Once again, Congratulations and welcome to your school!
